#1 A serendipitous saying

“My life is the product of the choices I’ve been forced to make to see this specific thing through. Your life is the product of- I don’t even know what your life is the product of!”

The very existence of this quote had faded from my mind until the exact moment that I found myself walking across a huge grass field, with a plane in my hand that had just flown for over a minute, as I was accompanied by a company of two seniors, who helped me see through this flaming desire of mine ever since I was a child.

It was then that I thought back to myself; 6 months ago, I would have never in my wildest dreams expected to be living out this scene, but here I was. And how? Well, the realisation of my desire, and the eventual production of the beauty that I held in my hand at that glorious moment, was all a product of the choices I made to see it through.

From getting out of my comfort zone, to randomly texting a senior 3 months ago, who just so happened to be an experienced RC Plane builder, and also turned out to be a good friend of mine and a mentor of sorts, to the conscious efforts of persisting him to teach me to build one myself, all of this was the sole reason that i was finally able to move one step closer to my purpose and my passion.

Finally, I should admit that the quote that framed this entire article wasn’t written by some philosopher or thinker. It’s actually a line from the movie Marty Supreme, delivered by a frustrated Timothée Chalamet — a line that struck me hard enough that I couldn’t help but see parts of my own life in it.
